BIMIreland.ie is 1 year old this week. BIMIreland.ie has become an established source of information for the Irish BIM Community. Here we look back at what we have delivered in the past year, and what is to come in the near future.

BIMIreland.ie is an Irish building magazine resource in association with CitA. Over the past year BIMIreland.ie has published BIM news and views from the construction industry.

BIM People is a popular feature. We have interviewed some of the biggest names in the international BIM industry over the past year, including Paul Doherty, Bill East, Fred Mills, Ronan Collins, and most recently to prolific David Philp. We have undertaken interviews with many Irish BIM experts working in a variety of roles in industry and academia. You can view over 30 interviews in the BIM People section.The website has covered BIM news, technology, companies, projects, BIM Jobs and BIM People. BIM adoption has been one of the principle topics in the Irish Construction Industry over the past year. We have covered the progress of Irish companies’ BIM adoption and the construction industry’s change to digitisation.

We have covered all of CitA’s events over the past year, and you can find reports from the events and details of programmes on the website, including the 2015 CitA BIM Gathering, the CitA Smarter Cooperative Building Series 2016, the BIM Innovation Capability Programme (BICP), and all the CitA Regional events.

Not only have we covered BIM, we have covered associated topics: drones, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and Lean. Technology is changing how construction is undertaken and how the built environment is maintained.

In the coming months we will be covering news leading up to the Irish BIM Innovation Awards, covering the CitA Regional events, undertaking BIM People interviews and keeping you up-to-date with BIM news from Ireland and abroad.
