CitA’s 3rd TECH LIVE conference will be a three-day event (June 15th-17th) focusing on the key challenges in construction and how the construction industry must change by embracing new ways of working. Attendees of this conference will gain insight from home and abroad to become a better, faster, more attractive and greener industry.
The event will be an open invitation for industry, academia, government, and IT vendors to submit presentation proposals on addressing one or more of the top 10 challenges facing the construction industry in 2022
This exciting conference will take place online on June 15, 16 and in-person on June 17 at the Gibson Hotel, Dublin.

Dr Paolo Ettore Giana is a Senior Information Management Consultant with Buro Happold.
Paolo is a Senior Information Management Consultant at Buro Happold with extensive experience at the design, construction and handover stages of complex construction projects. He is specialised in the management of information exchange via a Common Data Environment (CDE), workflow management, design approvals and delivery plans. He possesses in-depth knowledge of ISO-19650 series used to create standards and documentations for clients.
During his career, Paolo has developed a cross-disciplinary approach to information management. He has extensive experience in managing teams and client relationships, working closely with clients and their representatives, facilitating the collaboration of consultants and maximising the efficiency of the design team. Paolo is a BIM consultant across several projects and team sizes.
Paolo got a PhD at Politecnico di Milano (Italy) and worked as Research Associate at King’s College London on the topic of information management and Collaborative contracts. He is a published author with recognised BIM expertise with complementary Post Graduate Lecturing and Teaching experience gained in world leading universities.
Paolo will present on Implementing the Gold Standard in construction procurement: a focus on the Integrated Information Management Contract (IIMC)
Starting from the analysis of the independent review of construction framework “constructing the Gold Standard”, the presentation will focus on the recommendation 12 on how to embed digital technologies through frameworks. In particular, as answer to such a goal, Paolo will focus on the new released Integrated Information Management Contract (IIMC) and the benefits of such an approach to reach the need of collaboration that is the foundation of ISO 19650 principles
The use of collaborative approaches to drive digitalization can provide many benefits to the construction industry in terms of performance, safety, sustainability and value for money over the whole life of built assets.
