DIT BIM Open Evening on June 3rd

Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) is holding a BIM Open Evening for its MSc in aBIMM programme. This will include information, staff Q&A, presentation of student work samples, and a visit to the Big BIM Room.

BIMIreland.ie spoke to Avril Behan, BIM Programmes Manager and Lecturer, and Assistant Head of School at DIT. We asked her about the purpose of the event. Avril said, “The purpose is recruitment, both into and out of the programme, and to demonstrate the achievements of the students/graduates of the MSc in aBIMM to the Irish AEC sector. This is where we tie in with the Dublin School of Architecture’s Annual Show. See: http://www.dit.ie/architecture/show16/

The evening’s schedule:

A presentation on the contents, modular structure, and application process for the MSc in aBIMM programme;

An open FAQ session;

Staff and students and programme management will be available for to answer questions.

Avril said the digital examples of work from 1st (PgCert) and 2nd years (PgDip) will be on show. She said, “In 1st year the results are mainly individual and focused on discipline-specific BIM technologies. In 2nd year the outputs are collaborative and focused on process and human aspects of BIM.”

The School of Multidisciplinary Technologies is managing the event and teaching staff on the MSc in aBIMM programme will be assisting.
