Energia drives futher savings for motorways

Egis Projects Ireland, one of Ireland’s biggest toll road operators, has again chosen competitive energy provider Energia in an 8 gigawatt (GWhrs) deal.

The deal will see Energia provide 8 GWhrs of electricity to the Group’s tolling operations on the M1 Dundalk Western By-pass PPP Project, M25 Waterford By-Pass PPP Project and the M7/8Portlaoise By-Pass PPP Project.

Egis Projects Ireland is one of the market leaders in motorway operation. The company operates and maintains 152km of roadway at its North-Link M1, Mid-Link M7/M8 and South-Link N25 PPP Schemes on behalf of its client, Celtic Roads Group.

Energia has a 26% market share of the Irish business electricity and gas market supplying the energy needs of over 60,000 business customers. In addition to renewable assets, the company also operates a 750MW gas fired power station in north Dublin.
