Audi has invested €4.4m in a new showroom in Athlone, Co Westmeath which has created 18 new jobs, with plans to add a further five positions by the end of the year.
The opening of the new 12-car showroom forms part of Audi Ireland’s overall €80m investment into its dealer network with further openings planned in the coming year.

Situated on the old Dublin Road, it will showcase the 2014 Audi model range including the new flagship model, the Audi A8 and the Audi A3 Cabriolet.
“We have a long standing tradition in the motoring trade in the midlands having been in business for 42 years. My father, Michael Senior, established the business in Portarlington in 1972 and progressed on to open a new garage and showrooms in 1981 in Monksland, Athlone on the western side of the Shannon,” said Michael Moore Jr, dealer principal, Audi Athlone.

Audi Athlone is hosting a gala night on 9 May in the new showroom to mark the official opening.
