The Jobs Minister Richard Bruton says a €500m EirGrid pylon project is essential for rural job creation.
The GridLink project has been met by large scale protests in communities along the route in recent months.
EirGrid’s deadline for public submissions on the new pylons expires tomorrow.
However, Labour TD for Kildare South Jack Wall disagrees with Minister Bruton’s comments, saying the Government should consider all submissions first.
