Mandiant® Founder and Chief Executive Officer Kevin Mandia join with Minister of StateSean Sherlock TD today [Tuesday] to celebrate the official opening of the security incident response management leader’s Dublin offices. The offices, first announced last year, support accelerated growth within the UK and European markets. The festivities were held at the company’s engineering and Security Operations Centre (SOC) in George’s Quay.

In December 2012, Mandiant announced its plans to establish a European-based engineering and security operations facility in Dublin that would result in the creation of 100 new jobs over time. The investment was supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland. Most recently, Mandiant announced the further expansion of its European operations including a new office in the London area, key hires to direct sales in the region and new agreements with channel partners.

Minister of State Sherlock – Department of Enterprise, Jobs & Innovation and Department of Education & Skills with responsibility for Research & Innovation marked the occasion, noting that “Mandiant’s establishment of operations in the country was “confirmation of both Ireland’s prominence as a fast-growing IT security sector for organisations worldwide as well as indicative of the talent pool of tech savvy individuals here working in the field.”

“Expanding Mandiant’s operations to Dublin was driven by our desire to attract the skills and talent we need to build innovative products,” said Mandiant Founder and CEO, Kevin Mandia. “The wealth of cyber security knowledge and experience here in Dublin will help us accelerate the development of products and service offerings and enable our clients to detect, respond to and contain cyber intrusions more effectively.”

Barry O’Leary, IDA Ireland CEO said “Mandiant is one of the world’s leading computer security firms. The company’s products and services are enabling organizations to respond rapidly to cyber intrusions and prevent the theft of intellectual property and financial assets. Mandiant’s choice of Ireland as a base for its European engineering & Security Operations Centre is a reflection on the quality of talent available here in Ireland.”
