The European Business Awards (www.businessawardseurope.com) has announced that ESB is to represent Ireland as a National Champion in the prestigious 2013/2014 Awards programme. ESB beat off stiff competition to be selected as one of 20 National Champions and will now compete for Ruban d’Honneur status in the next round of the competition in The Millicom Award for Environmental & Corporate Sustainability. Final category Award winners will be announced in April 2014.
The European Business Awards has identified some of Europe’s brightest businesses based on their ability to demonstrate the three core principles at the heart of the Awards programme. The esteemed panel of judges were looking for organisations to represent Ireland who exhibited the highest levels of innovation, business excellence and sustainability.
Pat O’Doherty, ESB Chief Executive said; “ESB is delighted to be selected to represent Ireland as a National Champion in the next phase of these awards. It is an honour to be recognised as one of the leading organisations in our country and in our field. Our strategy positions ESB as Ireland’s foremost energy company competing successfully in the converging Ireland/Great Britain electricity market. We are committed to being competitive across all areas of our business to ensure that we give the best value to our customers. The European Business Awards is widely recognised as the showcase for Europe’s most dynamic companies and we’re looking forward to the next round of the competition.”
The European Business Awards is dedicated to raising the visibility and progress of companies who excel in delivering innovation twinned with successful commercial results whilst acting responsibly and positively affecting the social environment they operate in. Adrian Tripp, CEO of the European Business Awards added; “Over the past seven years we’ve received an incredibly high standard of entries from organisations that are passionate about their business. However, very few get the chance to fly the flag for their country and compete across Europe to be recognised as one of Europe’s finest. It really is an exceptional accolade to be picked as a National Champion and together with our sponsors and supporters we’re looking forward to seeing ESB in the next round.”
Jean Stephens, CEO of RSM commented; “ESB and the other National Champions have yet again raised the bar for dynamic, inspiring and quality businesses across Europe. We wish them every success for the next stage of the competition, which this year includes an exciting two-phase video voting round.”
To advance in the competition this year, all National Champions have to submit a video entry for viewing and assessment by a judging panel. In addition, the public will also be able to vote online for their favourite National Champion from each country, these companies become ‘National Public Champions’ and one will go on to be ‘European Public Champion’.
Voting begins November 2013. Visit: www.businessawardseurope.com
