The Fleetmatics Group’s new global headquarters facility, which houses their global product development centre, was opened today in Dublin by An Taoiseach.
Fleetmatics helps business owners worldwide to easily and effectively track and manage vehicles through more informed and timely business decisions.
“Ireland is our birthplace,” said Jim Travers, CEO of Fleetmatics, to the audience at the office opening. “The vision and work ethic that power the dynamic growth of Fleetmatics come directly from our Irish heritage. Its influence drives both product innovation and our sales growth. It is this Irish sensibility that allowed Fleetmatics to successfully focus on helping the small- and mid-sized business owner, when so many others have tried and failed.”
Growing on a global scale, Fleetmatics Group. has more than 17,000 customers and produces insight and analysis on the daily activities of more than 300,000 fleet-based vehicles around the world, as reported in its financial results ended September 30, 2012. It operates offices in the UK, and US including Reading, Boston, Cleveland, Chicago, Tampa, Charlotte and Phoenix. Most recently, Fleetmatics raised more than dollar 100 million from investors during an initial public offering, becoming only the fifth Irish company ever listed on the New York Stock Exchange
“Today’s event reinforces our commitment to Dublin as our centre of innovation,” said Travers. “This new facility in Cookstown will serve as our primary global product development centre. In addition to the Cookstown location Dublin is also home to the joint Global Data Centre responsible for the European market.” Fleetmatics currently employs fifty personnel at its Cookstown facility, including thirty five software developers. In the short-term, the company plans to increase its staff of high-end software developers by roughly 30 percent and, in due course, the total employed at the facility is expected to double.
