Chairperson Anne Boner reports that last week’s CitA North West BIM Region meeting was a successful event and well attended. The meeting titled ‘Sharing Knowledge’ was held on October 5th in Letterkenny IT.
The speakers at the event were Jimmy Fahy, BAM Contractors; Mel McGerr, MMA Digital; Kimmo Illikainen, Oulu University, Finland. Jimmy Fahy’s presentation was titled ‘Architectural Technology & BIM – Project Experiences’. Mel McGerr’s presentation was titled ‘BIM Services – Past and Current Projects’. Kimmo Illikainen’s presentation was titled ‘BIM in Finland – Construction Business and Education.’
[rev_slider dronewide]Anne describing the event, said: ‘We were very pleased with how our event went. The speakers covered BIM in a local, national and International context. As well as being informative, it was also a good networking opportunity with some people staying on for an hour after the event having discussions over coffee. The total attendance recorded was 85.’
IT Sligo in collaboration with Letterkenny IT, CitA and the region set up the Construction IT Alliance (CitA) BIM North West Region to promote BIM knowledge, training, and best practices.
