National Building Specification (NBS) is part of RIBA Enterprises Ltd, which is owned by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). The fifth annual NBS BIM Report shows a detailed appreciation of the benefits of Building Information Modelling, and an increasing demand for manufacturers input.

NBS has produced specification products for over 40 years, and its products cover building, engineering services and landscape design. NBS also produces a range of information products, including The Construction Information Service. Since 2005 it has been publisher of the Building Regulations Approved Documents for England and Wales.

This report examines industry views about the future for BIM, and what this means for manufacturers making construction products. The report gives the views of manufacturers and architects. NBS and the RIBA are members of the BIM Technologies Alliance which supports the UK Government’s Construction Strategy BIM Working Group.
