Chilean President Michelle Bachelet has cited BIM as a potential tool to increase productivity in Chile, noting that the country needs to be “intelligent, equitable and sustainable.” 

Ms. Bachelet speaking at ENADE 2015 in Santiago, stated, “With the Strategic Program Productivity and Sustainability in Construction, we are following the experience of the British Government, with the introduction of advanced digital models that allow the integration of project management at different levels and stages, also known as BIM, Building Information Modeling. In England, with the application of this model sector productivity increased by 20%.”

This continues to rising international trend to adopt and implement a BIM strategy for the procurement and delivery of public projects.
